History
We are a Rural Gas Co-operative that was established in 1972 to distribute natural gas to our members and customers. The Gas Co-op serves members located within the Lac La Biche County and parts of Athabasca County. In addition to our rural franchise area, we also serve the residents of The Meadows within the hamlet of Lac La Biche.
Our current customer base is now over 2,300. Our customers are served by our 8 full-time employees and 7 Board Members. We build, operate and maintain our own pipelines and are on-call 24 hours a day to respond to gas-odor calls, carbon monoxide calls and natural gas emergencies.
The Lac La Biche District Natural Gas Co-op Ltd. is a member of the Federation of Alberta Gas Co-ops (FedGas). Together with other members of the Federation, we are the largest rural gas system in the world.
